About

So where the heck are you?  A blog called Delectable Tidbits.  My name is Mimi.  I live in Santa Barbara where my imagination conjures up candy bar trees and sourdough starters with names.  Yes, I’m very bored.

What will you find here?  Lot’s of homemade versions of junk food.  I have a sweet tooth, but I try to keep it healthy.  We’ll talk about all kinds of things but forgive me if I rant about food issues occassionally.  You’ll find lots of bad photography that won’t ever be seen on any of those food photography sites (they won’t approve me) and lots of crazy photoshop art.

Please explore my blog.  Don’t feel shy.  Please leave comments!  I love a good conversation.  I look forward to meeting you, my reader.

If you need to correspond with me directly, my email address is:  varmint(at)cox(dot)net

Thanks Leah, I’ll be keeping an eye on your blog too! We bakers should stick together. 😀

    Hi Mimi,
Thanks for visiting my blog, and for commenting on my European peasant bread. I’m beginning to rust the no-knead recipes, but have been baking a long time, so I’m still just a bit skeptical, even though results are pretty good.
The sausage ragout goes well with that particular bread, Let me know if you’d like the recipe, or perhaps you can find a copy of the cookbook (the Silver Palate Cookbook).

Thanks Jeff for pointing me in the direction of the ragout. I recently acquired the 25th anniversary edition of the SP cookbook. I’ll check it out!!

      Thanks again,
      Mimi

    Hey there Mimi,
Thanks for commenting on the Charcoal Braid at my blog. Having been directed to your page about using the toss out from the starter, I’m now raring to try it out. I don’t know if I’ll actually make a loaf every day over 10 days, but I’ll certainly try your recipe. Thanks! Wish you the best in all your experiments!
